I'm in the middle of restoring my girlfriends grandparents 91 2.3L 5 speed Ranger, they're paying me for my time working on the truck at their persistence and are also paying for the parts that need replacing but they are not rich by any means and I would like to get this truck on the road without costing them an arm and a leg so I'm here for some advice. So far I've replace the 4 year old gas (which I had to siphon by mouth :bad:), inline fuel filter, rear ABS sensor, rubber bushing for the shifter, rotors and bearing, ball joints, calipers, front end bushings, rear pads and hardware including new cylinders, and I've rebuilt the fuel injectors. Now it running just fine for a while, but idles too high and sometimes idles too high as well as idling rough at the same time. Has anyone here ever had this same problem? I'm stump by this one, please help.

Have you cleaned the IAC and also checked for vacuum leaks?

Here is a good article on the IAC and how it works. The IAC can get dirty and will sometimes open and not close, causing a high idle.

Yeah. I've already cleaned out the idle air control valve, and check for vacuum leaks. That's why I'm so stumped here. Anything else you can think of?

So I still have no idea what the problem could be.
