ideas on how to??

Solid axle swap will net into the $2k range usually unless you're just ready fab-savvy and have awesome hook ups on parts.

Is manual Hubs something NEED or just WANT? Is ut really worth it? Are you having issues with using your 4x4? Think about it... Several grand could buy you a b2 or older explorer to build a dedicated trail rig out of. Find an explorer that's already 4.0/8.8/d35 TTB! and you can make a decent trail rig for 35 inch tires. And keep your newer explorer nice. just another option to think about...

this explorer has had a rough life.... body is straight but interior is well shot... and trans and transfercase went out on me.... had it one month.... but oh well... its a 500 truck and I am just going to beat it.... working on my full size bronco engine rebuild... thats the rig of choice..

If you have the ifs front suspension and have vaccuum locking hubs, you can go with the avm locking hubs. They run about $150ish for the pair iirc. We put them on my dads 99 ranger and they've been great so far. Of course he doesn't do hardcore wheeling at all. I think there are some guys that say they have problems with them breaking.
