ideas for 2WD suspension lift(IFS)

yeah thats what i dont like about body lifts, besides my cousin, who is helping me with this, did something similar to his 87 ranger, so he said a susp would be better than body, to fabricate, because of the steering extender and stuff. were starting on tuesday. im gonna post what we achieve.
we have a slight idea on how to solve the front end, we'll see if it works
any more input is welcome

quittting on the lift:annoyed: not really sure that i want it, besides messing around with the front susp isnt that good idea, everything is new and i dont want to mess with it, what if the ball joints get damaged cuz of the stress im gonna add? or if the tires get worn on the sides cuz of bad camber.
thanks for all the advice u gave.

What's wrong? The girlfriend told you you can't do it?!??!?!?

:D

:icon_confused: :dunno:  Forget the phoney baloney excuses BS. What's the deal? :icon_idea:

oo ur mean:annoyed: i was concerned about the stress i was going to put on the ball joints, talked to him today, we did some measurements, and seems thats gonna be fine. like i said its gonna be a mild lift, nothing to extreme, even lower that 4x4 stock, im doing it cuz i want to keep the clearance that 225/701r15 tires have, when i get 235/75r15, i dont want em to fill the hole well. its gonna be more like leveling it.
for the back wre gonna add a spacer like the 4x4 blocks, and for the front were gonna add a spacer to the spring, its gonna be an iron ring, same size as the spring, thats gonna be attached to it, with clamps or were gonna invent something. it will be like adding a turn to the spring.
it wont be welded on any suspension part, so it can be easily taken out and back to stock if any issue comes.
im going for this tomorrow, any ideas are still welcome and wish me luck!

hmm sounds interesting .. good luck i hope it works because i wanna level mine too!

yeah i hope too!! im gonna take pics and post em so anyone can do the same for giving a bit more height to their 2wd:icon_thumby:

Looks ok. I'm a little skeptical about welding the springs, BUT i've only ever heard stories and not seen anything with my own eyes.

How does it DRIVE? :)

thanks slim, drives almost like stock, a bit stiffer on the front but nothing to stiff, deff feels taller tho. only real issue is the squeak on the springs, but im gonna fix it asap.

what have u heard about welding springs?? i wanna know, this is in testing stage tho, any bad feeling or noise and its coming off.
