My Duralast bed-liner is 21 years old and I wish to "freshen" its appearance by painting it black. If you've done this --and I imagine few have --- what type of paint was used?

I don't remember that product going back that many years, Bro. I only know one guy who had to redo his bed liner and it was a nightmare to make it look good again. He had to get a mediablaster after hand sanding did not do too much to it. The blasint got everything off and then he recoated it and it came out really nice. It would be a lot of hand sanding if you don't blast it, and if you really don't care how it looks then than hand sanding it is the way to go then.

Ooops, sorry, you meant a bed liner. Sorry, I thought you meant it had an old spray in type liner....duh!!!! lol. I would not use paint on it, Bro. I would get a roll on or a spray on bed liner and use that. It will last for a really long time.

Thanks for replies and I'm going to go the Rust Oleum route.

definitely use an adhesion promotor and scuff it really good with a red scotchbrite, and make sures its CLEAN.
