Hey guys, what can I do with my exhaust to get a more throaty or airy sound without doing any kind of header work? I want it to sound GOOD with a nice rumble, you know. Nothing necessarily LOUD, but loud to a certain degree would be nice. I've got that 4.0L V6 in a '97 B4000.

Oh, if it helps at all I live in Carolina where the only inspections done are safety inspections (seat belts, headlights, brakes, turn signals, etc) so I don't have to pass an emissions inspection. At least I don't think; I never have before.

Flowmaster 40 muffler, or a simular at your local auto store...like thrush. Just as long as it's a fully welded muffler. Should give you the deep sound you are looking for. Maybe a 2 1/2" pipe.

I agree flowmaster 40 all the way. I purchased a cat back system and the fit performance and sound was perfect. It was way harder getting the old crap off than putting the new on. Great system

I used to have a Walker Turbo muffler on my Ranger, it sounded pretty good.

Yeah I was gonna try and change everything but the headers to 2 1/2" piping. So Flowmaster 40, alright. Thanks.
