I think ol rusty mighta finally gave up the ghost...

whens the last time you changed the timing chain?

I'd guess if the timing chain was bad the compression would'nt be as high as it is??

This is a perfect example of why I always take my most reliable vehicle to the bar. That way I can get shit faced and my friends can drive me home, and I don't have to explain to a cop why my truck is leaking oil all over the side of the road. Or that hottie in the corner doesn't get in and whine about how loud it is and why it smells like exhaust...

Seriously, that sucks...my buddy's Jeep M715 took a crap today too. Had it running good, started to miss really bad, and shut off. Ended up seizing the oil pump and destroying the distributor drive gear.

I shoulda replaced the chain and gear when i replaced the cam...but i didnt :( i know i know stupid.

Can fuel pumps get weak? Or do they just die?

later,
Dustin

sorry about your loved ttruck, good thing is that u are bringin it to life again
my fuel pump just died at like 2 weeks i purchased my ranger(110K mi)
also my mom's old 93 ranger did the same , the pump just died too, so in my experience they just die, hope helps u...

oh you will get it going...check the dis to make sure the rotor is spinning...

Will it fire with starting fluid or a little gas squirted in to the throttle body. That will let you know you are getting gas or not.
Check the injectors to make sure they are pulsing.
If all else fails Dustin I will donate you a 2.9 with about 60K on the clock to revive Rusty. You just come pick it up.

I agree. It sure sounds simple.
Drop in a carbed 351. No computer BS, change the trans and mounts, hook the fuel line and throttle cable up, and go play, not to metion more power.

later,
Dustin
