I need some creative ideas???

Heres the deal, I found this really good deal on a ranger on CL for $150, the passenger side front side you can't put a tire on the spindle, but the three other wheels you can put tires on, but in order to get the truck home, I have to load it on a flatbed trailer, but without damaging the trailer because it is a friend of mines. I need ideas, I cant think of ANYTHING!!!!

If I have a truck which no wheels on it I usually put it on an old hood upside down. It will act like a giant sled and slide right up the trailer with minmal resistance.

Friend of mine broke his knuckle off. They got a log that was by the side of the trail and ratchet strapped it to the bumper/frame. He drove that Jeep out of the woods.

He saved the log, and refuses to go on a wheeling trip without it now.

Sooo... build some ski's out of some scrap lumber?

Also instead of a hood you can use a sheet of cheap plywood or OSB.

This is an old camp story my grandpa told me. They had an old Chevy 2WD long box IIRC, and out in the midle of nowhere the knuckle finally cracked from years of abuse and the tire basically flopped loose. What the did was puul the tire & hub off, stick a log underneath the axle and then duct taped a snow shovel handle to the bumper so that the scoop part of the shovel was going back towards the truck (just like if you were to drag it behind you, imagine your hand as the bumper and the axle resting in the scoop) this made it act like a ski so the truck could slide along on 3 wheels. Granted this was in the winter but the idea seems solid.

they make four wheel dollys (like a furniture dolly)
for collector cars. maybe you could borrow one.

thanks guys, I think I am going to put an old tire under the axle(to prevent axle damage), and put my ranger hood under the tire, that way it should slide up on the trailer ramp.

And you're insane if you trust one to go onto the trailer ramp, up the trailer ramp, and make another transition to the trailer deck itself.

chain up whats left of the front suspention and put the biggest tire you can at the other front corner. have some weight in the back to keep the opposite back corner down and drive it on as a 3-wheeler. you passed on a $150 ranger? you could have made money parting it out or fix it and drive it for years.

Believe me I wanted to get the truck, but first off the trailer wasn't licensed and the $150 ranger was an hour from home, second I really didn't have a good way to pull the truck on the trailer, there was my dads f150, but I don't have the $$$ to pay for any damage done.

If the truck is able to run under its own power use any of the may methods suggested here by back it on!! If not back the trailer under. Also if that will not do the job build a frame out of doubled up 2x4 (or tripled) hoist the front up and back trailer under. Lower nose down close to the deck and back under the rear wheels. Place planking under trailer ramps to allow for slidding. If the truck's boddy is in fair shap and it runs a $150 is really good.
