I need help! 1991 ford ranger 4.0 4x4 automatic

So when I'm completely stopped and have it in drive,reverse, 1, or 2, gear it feels like something is binding when I give it gas the truck will move but as soon as I let off the truck stops instantly. Almost as if you left your emergency break on. But the part that's stumping me is when I put the truck in the overdrive gear it moves just fine. I can't find anything online so this is my last hope

sounds like your valve body is crossleaking from a blown gasket or is just loose.
