I may have just bought my last Ford

I have an update...

As of Friday, the body shop has all the parts needed to repair the original reason it was there. As far as the mold, I'll let my attorney deal with that. Until I'm satisfied, the truck can sit there.

Curious as to where you're at with the truck. ???

Just read this whole thread... Wow, what an ordeal.

As to OEM part supply (I work in Tier 1 Manufacturing for Automotive) -- I can speak to that, I doubt Ford is making their own axles.

Usually when a new model or program is launched, service part orders are the first items shipped from the OEM supplier, these items are sent to distributors then to dealers to stock shelves.

Now I doubt anyone is stocking rear axles due to the demand or the actual size or storage of a axle, but you can go find many new steering gears, brake components, etc on dealership right after a model is launched.

This sounds like the Axle supplier is way behind, and service orders are being skipped to keep the lines running.

I think it unacceptable to keep a customer off the road this long.

That is usually a metric withing a OEM. Next time you speak to Ford ask them what their average time a repair keeps a customer off the road -- the warranty department will track it. If your's is way longer (which I'm sure it is) then pitch a fit and ask to speak to someone over the supply chain. (I know you said they received the parts).

Sorry, I thought I updated this. I guess I only updated a few of the forums I'm on.

As of right now:
Ford paid for a rental for 30 days.
The axle is assembled and installed. Now that they can move the truck...
The bodywork is complete and going in for primer.
The interior is gutted. There are new seats, door panels, center console, carpet, underlayment, and headliner that will be installed.
The rest of the interior was scrubbed clean, sealed off, and ozoned (is that a word? It is now. Either way, an ozone generator was used to kill any hidden mold.) by a mold remediation company.

The general manager is telling me I should have the truck back on the 27 or 28th.

I did go to my lawyer, but it wasn't until the day after the axle came in. We both agreed that I wasn't getting out of the lease agreement now that the parts to repair it are delivered. His advice is to wait until everything is done, calculate exactly how much money I'm out of pocket, then take Ford, both insurance companies, and the body shop to small claims court to recouped it.

I called today to find out where the f$&k my truck was:
It's done, I'm going to inspect it and maybe pick it up tomorrow morning. They can't find my tonneau cover... I told them it's in my garage. They still had it on their inventory sheet even though I took it about 4 months ago.

Wow. What a thorn I the side you are. Lol ( sarcasm ). Glad you're getting your truck back. Hope it's up to par.

Way over due update:
I got the truck back around the end of February. It had the wrong fender flares on it. Took a month to get the right ones. I went to get them installed... the wrong flares were bigger, scratched the bedside, and they had to repaint the bedside. I took the truck with the wrong flares and told them to **** off.
3 months later, the new rear started making noise. It sounds like a pinion bearing is bad. It’s still making noise. I’m done with it.
Now to the point I came here to make...

I ordered a 2020 F-150 today. It should be here in about 8 weeks. I can finally get away from this nightmare of a truck!!

Nice!
Wow Sno, that was quite a trip :/
I, for one, will certainly be looking forward to your,
"My Next Ford" thread :)

That's the funniest looking Bronco I've ever seen...

Can't say I blame you... sometimes you just have to do what you have to do.

I just kinda feel bad for the new owner of the old truck... just saying.

I’m leasing it. 24 months will get past the first year BS of the Bronco. (First year issues, high demand, low rebates, etc.) I’ll be ready to turn this one in and buy a Bronco in March of ‘22. ?? It all part of the plan... which my wife might screw up. She said the other day “maybe I’ll buy a Bronco next year”... not that 2 Broncos will be a mistake.

Don’t feel bad... There’s no hiding the accident. Carfax knows about it, so will anyone buying it.

Real pics to come... for now it’s only pics off Fords build and price site:

2020 F-150 Supercrew XLT, 6.5’ bed.
The color is called Lead Foot.
3.5 eco-boost
Black appearance package
Max tow package
Big ass sunroof
36 gal gas tank

If anyone has seen the size of the 2015+ supercrew rear seats, I suggest you go take a look. You could almost park an old VW Beetle back there.

That should get you through nicely.

With all that room back there... I hope they put some thought into the rear seat. Would be nice flip it up or lay it flat for storage.

I'm with you on waiting a year... maybe even end of second model year for a Bronco.

The rear seat flips up and the floor doesn’t have a tunnel, it flat all the way across.

It appears to have as much cargo area as the bed of my Ranger... lol.

My daughter is quite comfortable back there... and yet she doesn’t have enough room between her bedroom, playroom, and living room!?!?!?!?

Nice! I like the color, although "lead foot" sounds like a challenge, if not a way of life.
