I may have found a truck!!!

SCAM
MAJOR SCAM
read the scam awareness page on craigslist.org and you'll see why. that thing has just about every point they cover, offer to ship the vehicle, guarantees, the seller and truck being far away, everything. PLEASE read that page man, here's the address: http://www.craigslist.org/about/scams

just tryin to watch out for each other

idk the ebay buyers protection seems pretty valid, ebay reimburses you the full amount and then pursues a lawsuit against the seller

contact ebay and check it out, but i thought ebay uses pay pal for payments an stuff.

well thats what I would use and I do plan on it, I asked for some pics of the undercarriage first before I ask ebay

Go look at it. Tell the guy you are interested but before you go any further you need to see the title.

Make sure it matches the VIN on the truck.

If he cant come up with the title, walk away. Dont even look at the truck.

Walk away if he says the truck isnt in RI.

Walk away if anything doesnt seem right.

Scam... Who talks that way? Some foreigner.

well...I would go and look at it, and also at least talk to the guy on the phone if its not possible to meet him in person before I paid a cent out to ANYBODY for ANYTHING. Business dealings online are risky as they are, and reading that guys initial emails sent red flags up all over the place.."truck is registered in Rhode Island" "located in Virginia"...riiiiight 0.o

yeah my buddy is going home to ct for the weekend and he's gonna take a look at it. Him and his friend from home are pretty big mud enthusiasts so i trust his judgement. If it all checks out that might be the new truck.... unless its like the katrina victim i saw on sunday

I would try to find something cheeper. I see alot of people selling trucks on craigslist for cheep. I bought mine off there. The guy wanted 1000 and it had a blown trans. i paid 650, got a trans and did it myself, did a lift and put on 35's and did interior stuff and am still way under the 3000 or so kelly blue book said its worth. Thats with the 240k miles the odomiter says. It had a motor put in by a shop and 5k spent 30k miles ago..... great deal. It had body damage but i have the ability to fix it easily with junkyard parts. If you dont have this ability then do what your doing :) I would keep looking tho,,,,

yeah I need a DD and while I'm sure I could learn to repair all of that I don't really have the time for it. So I'm just looking for a 96 or 97 with low miles in good shape. I'll do some easy preventative maintenance and just keep up on tune ups so i'll have a good running truck for a while.
