Make it a hybrid.

EVs are dying. They're not selling. Other technologies need to be pushed. I'm seeing the signs at work, finally. The new battery plant we're building is not supposed to be called a battery plant any more. But you didn't hear that from me.

Why am I not surprised - on both counts.
I get the whole shift, but we are not ready for it yet on multiple fronts.

And not calling a battery a battery is not going to change that.

They're not changing the name of the battery. They're changing to focus on some other technology. The plant is no longer being built primarily for EVBatteries. The focus is shifting. So they don't want to call ot a battery plant.
