I have a friend with a problem...


Yes, I've personally had firewall flex. It was cracked. Also had the master "ears" that are used to bolt the master to the firewall be cracked/broken. But in those 2 cases I would think you would have problems all the time. But worth a look.
 
Hey, yall its me the one having the problem. I did bleeding the breaks with the truck running but to my surprise the same result. I have alot of free travel before the breaks even have some what of resistance. Any resistance i have is all the way at the bottom. My thought which may be false is that the master cylinder I got is bad. What yalls thoughts?

We like to eliminate all the free options before we start throwing parts/money at the problem.

Have you adjusted the rear brake shoes so that they are snugged up to the drum?
Like was pointed out earlier in the thread.

Yes sir. Rebuilt the rears with new springs annd hardware and new wheel cylinders. The drums have not been replaced as I don’t want to dump money into alittle woods truck. My plan is my buddy has a parts truck with a know good master cylinder. Going to put it in and vacuum blead the breaks
 
1st I don't deserve the sir.
Nor the respect that comes with it.
I'm just a piece of crap floating in the bowl, that most people call life.

2nd if you feel you have depleted all other options and you can get a master cylinder for free and go right ahead and switch it out.
Then as you said once again rebleed the brakes.

Try cracking open a bleeder... with someone else on the pedal... then have them real slowly push the pedal. Note pedal travel before you see fluid flowing. If it starts pushing fluid immediately it means the push rod to master piston is likely good and the master didn't roll a seal cup. Do one front and one rear.

That hydraulic system should bleed without the engine running. Ive never had to run it to bleed all the air out.

Tell me how you adjusted the rear brakes..
