a while ago i bought a deck and 4 alpine type x's from a buddy for 100 bucks, pretty dam good deal, i was wantin a litle more bass though and im driving a 92 ranger ex. cab so i had lots of room to work with. Another friend of mine was selling his polk audio subs with the box. they are 2 12's so i picked them up for 200 bucks and then I picked up an alpine 800 watt for the subs and an alpine 400 for the speakers.
with the subs in the back its a really tight fit and there literally would be no room for anything else so i took out the seats and made a wooden enclosure for the existing sub box to hold it all in place. I also brought the rear speakers up into the top of the box. I hid the amps in behind the subwoofers, sealed it all up and covered it with fabric.
I have never done any electronic work or anything of this kind before so i was suprised that i even managed to wire it right and i was pleased with my fabric job too.
I think it turned out pretty well and it sounds great, now i just have to do he rest of the interior/whole truck...................
