I was wondering who'd be the first to comment on that, I hadn't picked it up yet. OH my GOD what a debacle that was. My tow rig (07 F250) has my slide in camper in it. So it's a big pain to pull a trailer with. I decided to use my '82. Yeah, the horrible shit box I mentioned in another thread. Well, it was good enough to pull a trailer two miles with. WAS. Until I pulled out of the gas station and it fawking died on me at the stop light. Battery stone dead...alternator not working.... cool. Had to run home, get a jump pack, do a mad dash through the stop light running on just the jump pack back to the house, (think like Neutral Drop style)and move 4 vehicles around to get the 07 out. Of course I have to back into my driveway and that's impossible with the camper in the dark so when I got back back home I had to swap vehicles AGAIN in the turn lane and back it in with my Ranger.

It is back but I just about had a bad hark attack getting it here.

I'm hoping not to have a similar debacle tomorrow... going to pick up a F250 frame with a TTB D50 and 10.25, steering box and two gas tanks for $300 (unless he takes less, I don't haggle on messenger, wait until in person). Doesn't sound like a bad deal for parts for the Explorer when I finally get there, it still has the front shock mounts in place and everything so there's parts that will be useful...

That said I'm in a similar situation, my F350 still has my slide in camper in it, it's already hooked to the trailer though so that makes it easy, I asked him if there's room for that mess and he said yes so we'll see, piloting that battle ship is interesting sometimes... Mine tows the trailer great but I can't see squat, and the turning radius of a ~13' wheelbase with a leaf sprung solid axle is fairly large...

I think I'm nearing that 10k mark...

I'm around 16K, last I looked.

The whole driveway things sounds like my situation. We call it the driveway shuffle. It's even worse in the winter time aince we need to keep the street clear for the snow plow. So, all the vehicles need to lined up just right for whomever is leaving first in the morning. And if some one calls off, it throws a monkey wrench in the works if they are the first in line.
