I broke our camera!

My wife's going to kill me.

I picked up the camera from the tv stand as I was walking by and didn't realize it was plugged in to the tv. The cord pulled it and I dropped it on the floor breaking the battery cover. It's broke at the little plastic hinge at the end of the cover.

I need to see if I can find a place to get it fixed. I looked on line but Kodak didn't list a replacement part for the Z812 IS.

Anyone have any experience getting cameras fixed?

Ok. I think I'm in luck.

I found the part on line:

I want to find a camera shop and decide if I want them to fix it, or order the part and fix it myself.

When my sister broke my nikon for the second time, I just went and bought a cheapy from walmart for about 70bucks, which was little less than it was to repair the problem and of course way less than a new one. It has worked out great so far really good pic quality and also pretty durable, dropped it a couple times and its still working perfect, just a thought to maybe have in the tool box and for that next trip out west for a BITD race.
