I bought a car today.

not as bad looking as i thought it would be!

One thing to keep in mind nowadays is that all Turbo cars must use PREMIUM fuel.

I am not aware of any turbo car that doesn't require premium to ward off detonation under boost.

A good friend of mine was all set to buy a Turbo Beetle until I pointed this out. Deal breaker.

If I'm buying a car to get better gas mileage, I don't want to offset any gains by spending an additional 30cents per gallon for fuel. :bawling:

Not true, i have an 02 vw jetta 1.8t and ive run 87 in it since the day i got it, never one problem. i put premium in it once and a while if i feel like having a very little extra power.

hey now youcan put in a woodchipper in that thing!!!!!that would be bad ass

who keeps digging up old threads??

This might explain a little bit of all the problems that Chryler has had with their transmissions and drive lines in general. I know of a friend that had his steering rag joints replaced three times in a year in his Neon. Good luck!

When those first came out, a family friend who is a dodge dealer said people were fighting for those. They were selling them faster than they could get them! I didnt realize how small they were until I saw one the other day. Glad your happy with your choice. The station wagons sure can fit a lot in them!

My mom has a 03 pt cruiser gt turbo, i drove it once and i have to admit, it has a decent amount of power, I had it up to 120mph pretty quickly...lol it felt like i was doing 70. Also i agree they do have alot of room in them

My 1990 Plymouth Laser RS Turbo called for 90 octane, and never complained a bit about the 89 octane E10 I ran in it for 37k miles. $.10 cheaper than regular and got 27-29 mpg on the highway, or about 25 with me flogging it around town.

A Laser! Ah, bringing me back to the days of the 2.2L 22 HP Dodge Aries!

Come on guys: show a little class. The guy just got a new car. (new to him at least)

We wish him well.

the tread is like 6 months old. just thought i'd throw that out there

So what? apparently some people had somthing to say, who gives a damned how old the post is? The dissucion is current and interesting.

Infact, 91wannabe was correcting a error in this thread. If somone did use the SEARCH function and found this thread, they may think they have to run premium gasoline in their vehicle, but since it has been corrected whosoever is "googling" or searching TRS will get better information.

Maybe we should not be so f*cking anxious to be a poster snitch?
..just thought i'd throw that out there!
