I am now, a Traitor

How the F can you include the free instrument cluster in the cost of your vehicles, LOLOLOLOL.

hey its only wrong if he added in the price of what it should have been... lol. i thought the same thing to but oh well. i'm a dumb missippian! lol

The other half is on her second XJ. The first was an '85, with the 2.8 Chevy V6/5spd combo. Not a bad truck. 2-door model. The only thing I didn't like about it was the Rochester carb (can't stand Rochesters). We ended up putting a 5" lift and 30" BFG MTs on it. The current one is a 2000, with the 4.0 straight 6/auto OD. 4-door Sport. Electric everything. Nice ride. An XJ was my first "look for" target before buying my Ranger, actually. But the Ranger is more functional for me.

Well, my free cluster has a bad temp gauge in it. Not sending out 12 v to the sender, I had all idiot lights now I have a tach and gauges, yay. I had to find another so tack on $50 for that and $35 for a used regulator for the drivers side.

You added 5 inches and only went 30's? Time for some 33's and a 2 inch bl man.

Not a bad deal! hope you enjoy it as much as i enjoy mine! I've lifted mine 4.5 out back, 6.5 up front with CA drops, double shear track bar, custom bumper, bedlined interior, gauge swap, 5.0 injectors, 33s, and so on. My oil pump decided to take a dump on me 2weeks ago and trash my motor, so I'm swapping in another 4.0. Have a roll-over donor '89 im taking parts off and if you need anything before i finish it off shoot me a pm!

Oh an froggy, xj is unibody:icon_thumby:

not gonna lie, i miss my heep :(

I do too. The 4.0 is nearly indestructible. The rear diffs are typically weak though. Upgrade to a D-44 or do the 8.8 swap. Yours probably has the 8.25 which is a slight upgrade from the D-35. But still fairly flimsy compared to the 44 or 8.8. Plus the 8.8 has disc brakes and limited slip if you get the right year. I am shopping for another one now, but got to save up. The wife would KILL me if I bought one before fall at the earliest.

well im hoping the 8.25 will hold up to 31'2 or 2's. I know how to do the disc brake swap on it also.... hehe. but there is a very limited selection of lockers for it I think would love an ox...

I had an xj. it was owned by an old science teacher scince new in 90. kept every record of every oil change and only had 118,000 miles. fun son of a gun. went anywhere at all. for a month and a half. then it blew up the coolant bottle, threw the belt, blew the head gasket, fried the fuel pump, got a mean crack in the block, and bent a couple valves.

so, I needed a new rig. I bought a 94 grand cherokee pretty cheap from a friend. Two weeks later brakes go out while driving 50 mph, so I slowly pull the e brake to avoid piling into tons of traffic, e brake doesn't work. Drive between lanes of stopped traffic, thread the needle through a red light and get lucky. So I go to limp it home slowly. Engine overheats, so I stop. wait. driving again and tranny starts slipping. WTF. I gave up on it and all jeeps until I have major money.

Not til I can afford to rebuild a vehicle 4 times over will I commit to owning a jeep again.

btw their names were jeep heep 1 and jeep heep 2

Whatever.....

I traded my 2000 B3000 for a '99 Ponticrap Grand Am. 1.5 months later I was able to unload the GA and now drive a 89 Ranger.
No pity from me man. We all make mistakes, some are dumber than others.

I wouldn't spend the money on an ox locker for an 8.25, spend the money on an upgrade.. A real one. Like an 8.8.

Lol when it breaks I will. My next "mods" will be 2" greaseable shackles, and all new greaseable leaf spring bushings. Then on to the front end.
