How's this for mileage?

..what is a rough estimate on how many gallon(s) is left when the fuel light comes on? Would 1 gallon be pretty accurate?

No, usually 3 gallons left

I live about 8 miles from town. The light can come on as I leave work and I can still get back to town and get gas the next morning.

My F-150 also gets about 300 miles per tank. Something like a 22 gallon tank. :icon_thumby:

Making some assumptions, here. First, that you have a 16 gallon tank. Second, that you started with it full. You got 25MPG (Imperial, NOT US, Imperial gallon is larger). On a 20 gallon tank, you got 19 (Imperial again, NOT US). That's pretty gosh darn respectable, I'd say.

The easiest way I've found to track mileage is to use my phone. I have an app called "fill up", copyright William D. Kraemer. Every time I fill up I put in the amount of fuel purchased, the cost and my odometer reading. The second time, and every time after I use it, it tells me the mileage. It also keeps a log so you can see how things change over time. When the mileage drops it's probably time for a tuneup. My truck is old and tired. It's a 1994 4.0l/5speed, reg. cab. I get somewhere between 13.5L/100km [17.4 mpg(us)]and 17.5L/100km [13.4 mpg(us)].

in response to that,,,,Jim would probably ban me for life if I told the joke that ended in "oh really,,what did her mama say"

it's getting late, I really should stop typing now

..I normally average 450 km (275 miles) per tank. This time around I decided to drive like an " old man ". Didn't kick it down once. Did the speed limit( 62 mph ), on single lane highways...and 55 mph when it split off Into two lanes.
