I'm looking to buy a whole setup for my truck. I found the pieces I think i wanna get but I dont understand how it all fits together.

Head Unit: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_113MP342U/Kenwood-KDC-MP342U.html

Front Door Speakers: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_130TSA1302/Pioneer-TS-A1302C.html

Behind Seat Speakers: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_130TSG1342/Pioneer-TS-G1342R.html

Amplifier: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_113KAC6404/Kenwood-KAC-6404.html

Amp Wiring Kit: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_142PA8/EFX-8-gauge-Amplifier-Wiring-Kit.html

Stereo Patch Cables: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_211ZN5250/StreetWires-Zero-Noise-5-Stereo-Patch-Cables-16-4-foot.html

Speaker Wire: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_211UCT14/StreetWires-14-gauge-Ultra-Cable-Speaker-Wire.html

Ok so I'm thinking that I'm gonna put the tweeters for the front door component speakers in the kick panel. Now what I dont understand is how all this wiring works.

Which of the wires goes from the HU to the amp and where is it run?

Then from there which of the wires runs from the amp to the speakers and how does that all work and where is it run?

If someone could give me an explanation of how this entire setup would come together and which wires go where and do what and all that. I'm new to this and I wanna make sure I understand it all before I move forward.

Thanks,
Mike

basically from the head unit you need an rca signal and a 12v remote turn on wire to the amp

from the amp: you need a power and a ground of course but for the rear speakers just connect the +'s and -'s from the speaker outputs of the amp to the speakers.

for the front speakers you would run the +'s and -'s from the amps speaker outputs to the crossover's inputs. then from the crossover you would run the tweeter output to the + and - on the tweeter, and repeat for the midrange.

its late so sorry for the quick explanation, but i drew ya a pic

lol i saw that last night and i was was to tired to write it all down but follow the pic its what you need to do

Ok thanks guys.
I took a look at the guide put up in the technical library on how to install aftermarket speakrers and I saw him put the crossover attached the inside of the door panel next to the speaker. Is that the ideal location for it?

I've also seen a few different ways of where to put the tweeter. From what I've read it seems like having it in the kick panel is the best spot. What has to be done to put the tweeter there?

Overall on a scale of like 1-10 how difficult do you think it would be to install this system on my own? Do you think it would be worth it for me to take a look at what the local shop that did my buddy's system on what they might charge?

Thanks for all the help guys

id say to it your self, its not hard but that come from some one that does it for a living, everything comes wiht instructions and if you need help just post were your stuck.

not a fan of kick panels. I've never owned one but they look like they'd get trashed just getting in and out of your rig. Snow, mud, dirt, water all right into your woofer tweeter set up. But like I said I've never had one before so I'm not sure its actually an issue
