to make a long story short i bent up my aries brush guard the first time i went out off roading. The bottom horizontal bar is bent inwards (from bottoming out) and the right bracket is bent back into the truck. i was thinking about putting a strap around the bracket and trying to pull it out with another vehicle. this is probably a bad idea, so anyone have a better one?

Get a real bumper. :idiot:

Just kidding. I'd take it off and take some heat and a hammer to it if you can. Or maybe just heat, whatever works.

ya ya ya i learned my lesson. nothing like getting out of your truck and seeing your brand new $500 brush guard hanging off :pissedoff:

would heat damage the paint on it? i want to get it in semi-normal condition cause i'm thinkin of selling it...

There will be no easy fix to make it look new again. If the tube is kinked then the only way to fix that is to cut and weld a new tube in. As far as the bracket you can straighten it a few ways, hammer, heat and so on. As far as pulling on it I would try a come a long or something similar before using another vehicle.

Park it near a tree and use a come along to pull it. You will have much more control that way. Trying to yank on it with another truck will quickly result in being bent way too far back.

if you pull it back with a come a long or vehicle, pull it back a lil farther then where it was before you wrecked it to get it back into place easier and quicker

Another truck with a winch would work good for this as well. As stated though, the vast majority of brush guards are cosmetic only.
