I had the same concerns, and I took my HK91 to a gun show and sold mine right there. Local gun shows are fairly common and often, about every 6-8 weeks it seems. You don't have to have a license to sell. I just paid a small table fee and split it with a buddy of mine that also had some guns to sell. We both came home happy and loaded with cash instead of guns. You are supposed to collect tax, but that is up to you. There are several currently in KY (I don't know how close LaFayette is)
The other options are GunsAmerica.com which you need a FFL. I'm not fond of FFLs. Some are good and some are bad. I had a FFL dealer hold my delivered gun "hostage" and wouldn't give it to me until I told him some proprietary molding information. You might get lucky finding a decent FFL and maybe not.
I'm not familiar with full auto restrictions to know if you can post it on gunsamerica or not.
Lastly, many local gun shops will buy it from you but they will only give you 50% of the value.
