i have a 2.3L 1990 ranger 2wd, how do i get the neutral safety switch off the master cylinder?

please answer my question!

can someone please answer my question on how to get off the neutral safety switch from the master cylinder?

No switches on the master cylinder. If it is the manual transmission in your profile, it does not have a neutral safety switch, only automatics have this feature.

Your truck has a clutch triple function switch, and it is located on the clutch pedal at the master cylinder rod inside the cab by the lower steering column. Pink wire which goes to rd/lt blue.

Not sure about the Ranger, but on my F150 the switch slides over a pin on the clutch pedal, and is held on with a cotter pin. Simply remove the pin, and slide the switch off.:)shady

yeah th ranger has a little c-clip lookin thing thais very easy to remove....but you have to remove the rod from where it connects to the pedal....this has an e-clip...just becareful not to loose it...then the switch will slide off...

why are you removing it?

one time i had one that wouldnt push far enough and i use a peice of rubber hose i split and a zip tie as a spacer...

if you are removing it just so yo dont have to pust the pedal to start it ther are 4-5 wires going to to it...2 that a re for the starting part of it and the others for disengaging cruise/cont...

i am removing it because my master cylinder is leaking so im replacing it and i need to put the switch on the new master cylinder. how can i bypass that so i dont have to push the clutch in to start it.

You can bypass it by connecting the two Pink or Red wires going into it.

But, I suggest reusing it tho.
