how to get the best mpg?

My full size bronco with a 5.8, auto and 35's can get 11-13.

I've got a E3 plug in my old lawn mower, made it start easier. Other than that, I have no experience with them.

Driving a stock 2007 super cab Ranger here, 3.0, auto & 2wd.

I drive for mpg's & get 20mpg city/hiway winter driving. 22-23 city/hi-way summer driving & the most mpgs I have todate is 25. It is very consistant mpg..

I would have thought this new of a Ranger would do better as my old stock 89 BII, 2.9, 5 speed 4WD averaged 22-23 city/hi-way & hit 29mpg as the best it could manage...

stay away from e3 plugs like theyre the plague, if you manage to get a set of 6 that all work out of the box it wont be much longer till it all goes down hill. you could get a set of copper tops and side gap and index them if you really wanted to try and gain something with plugs but im not saying that will amount to anything either.

if you really want mpgs change your driving style or buy a 4cyl thats not under powered for the vehicle its in.

e3's... are trash.

my 4.0 in the b2 w/ 3.73's and 30's, auto trans-- gets around 18-19 usually. driving it hard doesn't change it much.. only about .5 mpgs

i havent tried it but i read the box and its crap. it says it improves your electrical flow so your alternator has to work less thus making your engine work less.

the only way to improve electrical flow would be improved connections, proper grounds, least amount of wires possible, etc.
plugging something in will only decrease mileage if anything

my 2002 ranger 4 door 4x4 xlt with 4.0l auto and 4.10s gets about 13. But what can i say, i raced my friends 1500 dodge sport 2x4 with 4.7l, k&n intake, throttle body spacer, custom tune, and series 10 delta series flowmaster and i could stay at his bumper the whole time until i hit the speed limiter.

Yes, extremely lean as in zero fuel in the exhaust. It doesn't cause any issues because the computer knows it's in overrun.

When you're coasting in gear, it doesn't need to "run". As soon as the RPMs fall below a certain point (or the TPS rises above 0%), the injectors will turn back on, I have my Dakota set to turn them back on below 1400RPMs. Pretty much every EFI vehicle (at least with a manual tranny) from probably the mid 80s on up has overrun fuel cut. I know my 4.0 does as did the old 2.9.

also. in case it helps anyone. trucks arent exactly the most aerodynamic vehicles. keep speeds below 70mph unless you want to destroy mpg. 65 and under if you really want the best
