My experience has been about the same. So rusty it's silly. I pulled the rotors a couple years ago because all of it was stuck in a solid ball of rust. No idea how that happens while an axle seal is leaking... LOLYou know, I did the disk brake Explorer 8.8” in my green Ranger and those stupid mini parking brake shoes are not at all fun. There is a strong possibility of me converting to a different style disk parking brake in the future. I’d rather have drum brakes in the back than deal with that dumb design. Or even build a pinion bake system for a parking brake. Maybe those mini-drums are ok in rust free states but they are miserable the whole way around here
