How reliable are Limas?

when i worked at the dragstrip when i was 15 to 18 we had a mid-late 90's model ranger and looked to be about the same era mazda.

we beat the ever living piss out of these things. the mazda had been flipped, 3 times. as in 3 separate incidences lol

they pulled the big ass tractor tires/ oversized constuction equipment tires up and down the track no problem. they were laid on the sidewall and had a chain through the tread the we hooked on the bumper. helped clean off the track, grind in oil dry, dry the track after rain. that was loads of fun when it rained. if you got the tire to slide back and forth the rear end of the truck would float around with it. haha so much fun.

anyways reminiscing over. they were great. we never had any problems with them the 3 years i worked there.

Very Reliable

I have a 99 Ranger with the 2.5L, 5-speed with 250k. Still runs awesome. And I learned how to drive a stick on this thing, as well as the previous owner, so I would say VERY reliable. And at times I get behind changing the oil, but not one major issue. If anything some of the sensors get replaced, but that is it. I would even vouch for the transmission too, original one with original clutch.

oh yeah me and 3 other guys (that i know of) learned how to drive stick on the ones we had a the strip.
