I recently purchased a 93 ford ranger stx reg cab short bed with the 4.0 OHV, 5 speed manual, trac lock rear differential. It came with power window, locks and cruise control as well as the premium sound system. It has has 160k miles on it. The truck is all original in the cranberry color with the wave stripe down the sides. I'm the 3rd owner, first 2 were older individuals, so it wasn't mistreated. I found the original dealership papers in the glove box that showed what the person specially ordered on it and price. I was just curious to see how many are still out on the road like this. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Images please.
The VIN obviously will tell generic production numbers.
I'm not sure if a Marti Report would cover '93.

If it is rare, the guys will know...and they will for sure want to see it :D

An stx with all that stuff? Wow, it sounds rare.

Thats the old dash and new body style right?

Depends on what you mean by "old dash". 93 is early 3rd gen, which used the dash from gen2 (or late gen 2?).

Is thst thr dash thst has the sqaure gauges?

There's 3 general dash setups on Rangers, '83-88, '89-94 and '95-11, there's many small differences in those year ranges but on a quick glance externally those are them...

By then I think STX was more of a sticker package, I don't think it had the 1.5" lift that the earlier ones had but I've been wrong before... The STX package isn't the most common in general so I don't imagine there's too many survivors.

Sorry for the multiple pictures. Couldn't get it send multiple pictures on one message. It definitely sets higher than my pop's 00 ranger xlt 4wd. I've tried to do some online searches for trucks like this online and haven't found a single one with the exact setup.

Not rare at all. There were a lot of those trucks made.

Cool options combo though - lots of good parts went into building that truck and I love single cabs!

When you said "wavy sticker" I correctly guessed what color it was lol.

Factory foglights are kind of rare and sought after, otherwise it isn't very uncommon.

I like the cluster and dash in those. Old school style

There’s 4 dash setups, somewhere around 08-10 they changed the dash slightly. Might be a Canadian thing though, I don’t remember specifics but I know I’ve seen a 4th dash style.

STX was an oddball package. My 92 is an STX. No factory lift, painted bumpers, no vent windows, no rear slider, no privacy glass… from the exterior it looked like a basic XL packaged truck with alloy rims. In the cab it got all the loaded XLT features.

STX wasn’t a rare package, but it usually was a mix of XL and XLT trim packages. IIRC, the STX largely disappeared mid 90’s from the Ranger line. There were a few other packages that appeared after that (Splash, Tremor, Edge, Thunderbolt). Tremor and Thunderbolt were probably the most rare of all of the packages with the exception of the factory modified stuff.
