how much tranny fluid

what is a general estimate on how much fluid a 5spd for a 92 ranger that is drained? i know to fill to bottom of fill hole, but only want to make one trip to store. thanks

Grab a 4 litre jug of mercon ATF, you'll be good to go.

actual spec is 2.75 quarts.

I generally leave both the fill and drain plug closed and dump three
quarts in through the shifter hole.

The extra 8oz won't hurt a thing.
