How much should my shifter vibrate?

I just put in a junk yard drive shaft w/ new u-joints after mine was damaged.

How much should my shifter vibrate? At 70MPH it vibrates slightly maybe 1/8" max.

Is that normal? Would the thing be bouncing up and down if the ds was unbalanced?

Am I being too paranoid?

A little vibration is to be expected. If you can really feel it, take the shaft to a driveline shop and have them check to see if it's balanced correctly. Sometimes the weights fall off them.
