How much have you spent in repairs??

my 1st 2 cars were Hondas, both ended up totaled. This is my 1st Ranger (3rd p.u.), I paid $14,000 cuz I had the $$ burnin' a hole through my bank accnt. It's been a good truck (knock on wood), I got almost 44,000 miles on her now, had the rear shoes replaced for abt $100.00, at about 35,000. Gonna have the fronts checked again soon, and I'll prolly need new tires in the fall.

and it sure works for it's living:)

My first and only chevy S-10 cost me $4000 at the lot, and almost $16,000 in repairs over 4 years. bought my 94' 2.3 Ranger for $500 in 2006, new Trans(I learned manual on this truckl) new brakes, new tires, just did water pump, thermostat, timing and serp belt, all coolant hoses. about $4000 in parts, labor(some did the brakes and trans for me) and tools. I love this Truck!

Not too much

Overall, for a $1000 dollar vehicle, I can't really complain. In 1.5 years, I've replaced most of the break system (lines, calipers, drums, master cylinder, etc) after a terrifying ride in WV. I've also replaced leaf spring mounts, done basic electrical work, hoses/pcv value, exhaust/cat work, and replaced a idler wheel/expensive belt.

Total cost? ~$600
Not too bad, though I hope to keep it that way with my current intake manifold issues.

i've had mine 1.5 years bought truck for 250 with rod knock, was giving a running (bad valve seals) truck with bad trans, pulled motors, put new head gasket kit on$40, new clutch while was there $95, tie rods 2x$20, tires 4x$15 at junkyard(like new), leaking valve cover gasket reuseable rubber one $20, duplicolor base color(no clear) $50, brand new brakee pads from junkyard truck $5, in all i have less than $700 in the whole truck including oil changes(kept all receipts

mine is an 88 with a 2.0 and 140,000miles and it just got a new starter and exhaust I also replaced the carb cause the old one was too expensive to fix. new tires the old ones were cracking on the sidewalls, and brakes including the master cylinder, junkyard shifter boot, new airpump, and mechanical oil pressure gauge.
purchase price was about $2500(I actually traded my daughter for my taurus and she paid $2500 for the truck and that is what the car was worth).
repair costs total about $500 including the carb mod so a total of about $3000 not counting oil changes cause those aren't repair costs those help reduce repair costs!!!!
