I went to the local hardware store and picked up 5 60lb bags of tube sand = 300 lbs + new tires...made a huge difference. The bags aren't crap either. I've hit the brakes hard enough a few times for them to slide forward and hit the front of the bed and haven't leaked any sand. They fit perfectly in between the wheelwells.

Well here is a pic of what I ended up with.

If you buy an 8foot 2x4 you only need to cut it once if you don't mind 3/4" or so of extra hanging off the top pieces. It fits in there snugly as do the plastic containers. I'm pretty happy with it; I turned last years into a canoe rack in the spring, and I feel more comfortable keeping stuff back there with the tonneau I just got on the cheap.

Now I just need to wait for some more snow so I see how ~200lbs helps my mud terrains bite.

1 cubic foot = 7.48051948 gallons (80 - 125lbs)

That's about 10.7 pounds to 16.71 pounds per gallon.

50 / 4 = 12.5 (gallons)

133.75 - 208.88lbs per 50lbs container.

Finally: 267.5 - 417.76lbs

Based on the 75lbs above, I came up with 375 pounds (which seems extremely reasonable).

75 / 5 = 15lbs per pound
12.5 gallons * 15lbs * 2 containers = 375lbs.

Yep, Pete wins! A pound of feathers does weigh more than a pound of gold! Hard to explain but an oz of gold weights more than a oz of feathers but a pound of gold is lighter.

Most certainly .

A pound of gold is considered to be 12 ounces. A pound of feathers is 16 ounces. Just a different weight scale, it's a trick question.
