Umm how did you manage to get a gallon of 80w90 in there without it all puking back out the fill hole? It should hold just about 2.5 litres.

My guess: he filled it with the passenger side of the vehicle significantly downhill and filled up the axle tube.

Either that or he has a serious leak (and the dead brakes that go with that) or he's just exaggerating.

i did it in my drive way it was level didnt even use jacks had the spare tire out switched the diff cover to a chrome cover looked all over for a spot to fill it... found a bolt on top the diff with a sensor and wire connected took it off and pulled out the sensor filled it and it never got full.. used the hole gallon and if it was leaking where would it be at? also yeah never done the drums... my e-brake works good tho.. locks up. any info would be appreciated thanks.

you filled the wrong hole. It takes a tad over 2 quarts. You should either pop the cover back off and fill to proper level or suction it out. The fill plug is next to the pinoin.

yea.. ima go look at it real quick again.. it was hot and i was tired just got off work when i did it and i couldnt find the hole... never had that problem before.. if i find it i let you know... would that affect the l/s in there at all?

you need to add some friction modifier for the LS. Let me check on how much.

where the hell did that come from... i swear it wasnt there before... man thanks when i did it i looked everywhere eles for it except the side next to the gas tank.. so ima just let it drain and see what happens... think theres any damage? id like a legit reason to swap in a 8.8 if its f'ed up

the diff oil i used was the Valvoline 80w-90 and on the back it said i didnt need the modifer it was already specially formulated blah blah...

If you want a reason to swap in a 8.8, then yes its messed up.

though it most likey is fine. I think its 2 oz. of friction modifier.

will that help lock up both tires for when i burn out !! no.. if i wanted too, i mean not that i do...
