Fun story:So I was searching for my first vehicle( I'm 17 now, 16 at the time) a ranger because I'm in a ford family and came across one at a dealership for 4200 bucks. I really liked this one so I bought it( the one I have now) and had it for a few days. So the next weekend I go ice fishing and the 4wd worked fine but after I let it sit for about 2 minutes, I go to move it and it goes no where I gave it gas and still nothing. I took it back to the dealer b/c he has a warranty on his cars and said I could have 1,000 bucks toward a new tranny. Now I have a 2004 tranny with 65,000 miles on it all for free after the swap. Guess thats why the truck was so cheap. Later found out the kid who had it b/4 me burned it out in the mud......idiot
but its all good now
my 96 has 70 on this one the last one went swimming ya not good but my 91 reg cab that way a 2.3 4x4 5 speed that i put a 3.0 in the motor was about 420,000 km so that about 262500 mile it ran good i bet the hell out of it trying to kill it the last 50000 km i sold it then it burn the next year.

I had a '94 2wd 5spd regular cab. i owned it for 7 years. The tranny went about a month ago and I limped it home in 4th gear. When I took it to a friends to scrap it. 262,043
Just bought a 2000 3.0L 4x4 extended for a little over 5k with 116k
02, auto with 106K, the last 35K have all been supercharged & I am running 15-16 psi of boost on it. But the 106K mark is all this one is going to go as it broke a rod bolt & the carnage took out 2 more rods. It gave up at 16+ psi & over 5600 rpm when it went, smoke show, oiled the bottom of the truck etc & finally locked up, Rest in peace my friend.
New bullet on the stand now, just waiting on a few key parts.
My '98 3.0L has 325,000 miles + many cold nights idling to keep me warm (I sleep in the camper). One of the heads was replaced due to worn valve seats.
