How do I tell my parental units?

I do it by ignoring them whenever they say "Why don't you sell one of your trucks to get it off the lawn?"

Or, put one up for sale but with an ungodly price that only an idiot would pay. And if that idiot comes along it's already been "sold" to someone else.

I don't think anyone would pay 2000 for my Ranger, and if they would honestly I'd consider letting them have it right now, instead of the "sold" excuse. But that's what I had my truck up for sale for a few months ago.

Save your money now so that you can buy a place and have as many pieces of shit as you want. :)

Sell your truck and buy it yourself. No sense in
a) having a truck with no place to put it
b) begging your parents to buy you a second truck

My parents paid for half of my first car and that was it.

I currently own two trucks, one paid fully for and in my name (the ranger) and the other is in both my dad and I's names and it's our lil project hunting/summer cruiser truck (the scout).

Oh and we're out of room. There's three more trucks that I want to get, but I'm holding back until I move into a place that has a shop so I can work on/dismantle/part out/build on em.

Summary: I recommend buying it yourself, but don't buy it if you don't have a place for it.

I have like $10000 in multiple vehicles (only three). My parents think its excessive but don't mind since I use my own money, they rarely help me out. They have loaned me money but I pay them back. They pretty much say I can spend my money how I want. But living on a farm also helps with the space issue too haha

The way I see it, your money, your decision. As long as it's not illegal, then it should be fine by them!!!!
Yes, there is a legal point...

At the age of 18, suddenly from a legal standpoint your parents have little say. Other than of course if you live under their roof. I didn't buy my first toy until after I had turned 18....

well i have probably close to 10 project vehichles but i only have one stored at my parents house (1959 ford f100 rebuild and 4x4 conversion). some of the others i have stored at a good friends house that looks like a junk yard but he is trying to clear out but he has always said that as long as i got plans for it its ok to store it there. then the others are still sitting where i found them, people have given them to me and i tell them that ill take it if they can just hold on for a little while and most of the stuff i get has been sitting for like twenty years so another few months is no biggie. And i get away with stuff cause my dad has always liked old vehicles and stuff but never really had a chance to build ones like he wanted so he lets me do it.

pull it apart like and place it on your room like a race car bed.

I keep trying to talk the wife into letting me do that with something, she isn't so hot on the idea.

i got it...convince a friend to buy it, then i can work on it with him and take it for a spin every once in a little while

i currently have , well , lets count

2 Rangers - 1 DD , 1 Trail Rig
1 83 Chevy Project truck
1 72 Chevy summer cruiser
1 Explorer
2 Cutlass' - 1 Limited edition , 1 Parts car
2 Honda Motorcycles - 1 For riding , 1 that has a special meaning to my stepdad
1 84 Mustang summer cruiser
1 94 Camaro project car for sale soon

so right now i have 11 vehicles , 4 of which are in various states of disrepair , 6 of which run , and 2 of which are going out the door hopefully , and i am only 19

oh , and i have been through 6 rangers including the 2 i have now

but all my stuff has either been paid for by me , or i have had given to me

the 2 82 cutlass' were given to me , the 72 Chevy i maintain , but my stepdad technically owns , the 83 was given to me , the 73 Honda cost me $200 , the 79 cost me $500 , the explorer was $500 , the camaro was $1000 , but i am selling it for about double , and the mustang was $1000 , but i am keepin her

as for the Rangers , i got my first one , a 92 SWB for free , sold it for $300 , i used $200 of that to buy my next one , a 90 Excab 2WD , sold it for $900 , bout my third , a 97 SWB , for $900 with that money , then sold it for $1600 , my fourth was a 96 Ex-CAB with the off road package i paid $3000 for , paid that off after 1 summer , sold it for $2200 , only ever got $1800 from the guy , then i bought the 2000 for $2500 , and had that paid off this summer , then i got my 97 that i DD now , paid $1800 for it , and still owe about $500
