How do I remove those "xmas tree" interior panel fasteners without breaking them?

Now that is a well designed tool. If I have to redo the headliner again -- which I might since the color was wierd and I really needed a new board -- I'm buyin a pair of those.
I bought all three sets of crappy Harbor Freight interior pry tools. They all suck and the combined cost was way more than the cost of those napa ones.

This is old, but I just purchased the Door Panel Removal tool from AutoZone for $10 here in Texas. Pretty beefy and worked like a charm. Fasteners don't really stay in good condition if pulled but theyre definitely reuseable.

I've always used a produce hammer. Had it since maybe the late 60s/early 70s. Old grocery clerks will recognize it. Can't recall the last time I broke a panel fastener.

Wow, this is an old thread...

I had to buy a pack of the fasteners to redo my door panel because they all look like there was a fire in the forest...and now that the good ones are in there I'm gonna look for a proper tool to remove them...just in case...
