Hosed by an incorrect inspection

He says if he ever does get pulled over he will tell them he just put a windshield in and hadn't got it inspected yet. Sounds like a plan to me.

That's a great plan until the cop asks him to produce the section of the old windshield with his old stickers on it. When he can't do that the cop can and will ticket him, or at the least give him a 5-days.

Up in NY? The fine for no inspection or expired can be upwards of $150.00. And with the end of the month on us? The local PD will setup their usual road blocks on Dec. 1st like clockwork. They do seat belt checks, registration, inspection with one stop.

been there, had the windshield replaced... they just peel it off and stick it back on.

Or go to the pull-a-part once a year and snag a sticker while you're there

Ahhhhhhh Inspection stickers.......states at one time (40 years ago) kept junky vehicles off the road by having yearly inspections.

Now it's turned into a money game/if your ride is more than 10 or 15 years old, they try to punish you because you keep it driveable!

Thanks to the Jerks for making life a little more miserable...an Inspector failed my truck after I refused to agree to having the nit-picking stuff repaired.

I told him to slap a big orange FAILED STICKER on the windshied---he said "Your gonna have to pay $15 more to the next Inspector & still get it repaired!!!"

I did. I didn't. Same windshied/same crack....same tail lite lense/$3 for a tube of red plastic crack patch....one new inspection sticker!

Ohhh...thanks for all the honest Inspection Persons who realize what's important & whats not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I dunno how your stickers are up there, but here in PA, it don't work quite like that.

Our stickers don't exactly go back on once they come off (usually in a dozen pieces).

Here is a question if you put a sticker off another vehicle on your vehicle and they know it is not your sticker you get fined if caught right. 2nd senario you change your windshield and get caught without a sticker but passed an inspection you still get fined for not having a sticker right. In both cases they check the records when they run the plates, it is all about the money and little if any to do with safety. It is kinna like life insurance you pay all your life for it and after your dead where does that money go. Less than 5% of money in both cases goes to what it is intended for.
