Horrible day/Test driving a 2010 colorado

They're company vehicles. We drive what they give us. Some bean counter got a better deal on the Silverados so we got them. I didn't hate Chevy until I had to drive one 3000 miles a month.

I had a work truck it was a... Chevy 1500 with the v6 and 4x4. It wasn't bad, but it bogged on hills just taking a bed full of trash to the dump... and the bosses GMC 4x4 with the 6.0L I believe was pretty fast but it definately didn't feel like it liked being on the dirt roads so I am going to agree with you on that... not to mention literally evey other worker had a Ford, I had a ranger, the supervisor had a 350 with a 460 (felt slow but would just keep chuggin), the manager had a 150, both the office girls had 150's, and my co worker had a 150. the only other non ford was the carpenter with a 70's Pickup/suburban mix with custom suspension and a 454... boy that thing was nice...

N/A because the key has to be programed by dealer on 2010 models
I dunno, in that case they might have paid to have a dealer fix the problem... I know if it woulda been me I would have called an seen what they'd do. But I've never been afraid to use and abuse my AAA membership. Even to the point of having them tow a parts truck for me... 100 miles from college to home, lol.

All the construction sites I've worked on over the years, it almost never fails.... all of the Fords are parked off the road and up by where they need to be to be handy... and everything else sits next to the road or on the road, lol.

And one thing to think about when considering Ford vs Chevy/GMC/Dodge/Etc....

How many "other" brands of tow trucks or ambulances do you see on the road? Or the fire station's small response trucks? I'd say that probably 99% of them are usually Fords.... There must be a reason....

My work truck is an 07 Silverado. I don't complain about it because my boss is already overwhelmed with the other techician's silverado's breaking down more often. One of our techs recently had his driveshaft shatter. On a v6 2wd.
You are just not aware of the raw power of a V6 chevy :icon_rofl::thefinger:

I used to have a V-6 Omega, that thing actually had some balls. It needed a carb rebuild and got terrible mileage, but it did +100 MPH and didn't break a sweat. That's more than the Ranger can do.

I still prefer the ranger, but I'm just saying, a Chevy 3800-1 had some bawlz.

Now these newer 3800-2s are castrated wonders built on the same block as their ancestors.

lol, you're not supposed to post when incredibly tired or inebriated...

I missed that requirement. I'm both and have nothing to add to this post except probably some humor.

fill it up!! matt wouldnt mind... i can assure u hes making up to the lost time with his truck lol

Why did Chevy eff up and d/c the stout s-10/Sonoma???

Nothing that ever came with a ten bolt can be considered stout.

There is a special place reserved in hell for the douchebag that thought that was a great axle for a fullsize truck. I mean, you can easily kill those things in s-10's too.

I have a special hate for those axles if that's not obvious.
