Horizontal Coil Pack Firing Order

I’ve just replaced my plugs, wires, and coil pack. I followed a thread of someone who seemed to know what they were talking about. From my understanding there is a different firing order for a coil pack with a vertical plug vs a horizontal plug. My truck had a vertical plug on the coil pack and I replaced it with one with a horizontal plug. I’ve uploaded a picture of the method I went with and my truck seems to be running/idling good but would like to get a second opinion or multiple option on if this was the correct order. 1999 3.0 V6

I see no numbers showing the correct order on the new coil pack. The numbers on the old coil pack with a vertical plug were-

The problem is that there are two different coil packs that can be used, one being with a vertical plug and other with a horizontal plug. The vertical plugs firing order is-

2/6
1/5

Horizontal plug firing order from what I have read is-
1/5
2/6
3/4

I am trying to get a confirmation showing the horizontal order is correct…?

You would definitely know if you put the 1/5 and the 3/4 on the wrong ends, it wouldn't idle or run very well.

It idles great, I drove it around the block and I can definitely feel an increase in response and power. It just had me thinking maybe it’s wrong and still operating correctly because these trucks can take a beating haha. Thanks for your input!

I have a horizontal coil in my parts bin, the only marking is A-3 on the end.
since your's is working it's a non-issue now.

nope. it's in a box in the basement. I don't know what Ranger it was in. Either a '99 or a 2000.
