Vehicle Year
?
Have a friend trying to identify the year make and model of his brake system on his Honda Goldwing trike. Techs at budget brakes think is a Ford Ranger (but possibly Jeep). Need a year or year range to buy the parts from NAPA. Hoping these look familiar to someone one here.

Appreciate the help!

I think you can pretty much just pick a year... what you need to know is how big they are... 9 or 10 inch drums.

There was never a 4 lug ford ranger rear axle.

It's possible it's from an 80's 4 cylinder mustang, need the axle tag info not the brake part numbers.

Measures 9”

Ah so not a Ford Ranger. Maybe Jeep is 4 lug? The techs at budget brakes thought the springs setup looked like a Ranger or Jeep.

Take some pics of the actual differential. There "should" be a stamped steel tag on one of the cover bolts, if it's still there take pics of that as well as the entire axle assembly. It's nearly impossible to identify based on the parts from the drum brakes since all drum brakes are really similar and those part numbers are kinda meaningless since one part can fit 100 different vehicles...

It does look Ford-ish which is why I'm thinking maybe a mustang. I'm not a jeep guy but don't know if any jeeps were 4 lug either, 4 lug axles were pretty limited to just small 4 cylinder cars.

If it's a Ford axle, it should have the Ford logo stamped somewhere on the brake parts. Look on the backing plate for that. I'm sure other manufacturers are the same way.

Sorry Dadio, 5.0 Mustangs came with 4 lug also. I have 2. 91 GT and 92 LX. Only 5 lug Fox bodies were Cobras.

Looks like Ford, and I imagine the Mustang 4 lug brakes are near identical to the Ranger stuff, no 4 lug Jeep that I've ever heard of.

And probably Mclarens too and a few I forgot. I meant from the Ford factory. I know I should have been very specific. Shame on me.

Are Cobras from the "Ford Factory"? I thought Carol Shelby's Company did those mods in a different location, back then.
I wasn't trying to dissect your post. I just remember seeing the Saleen Mustang as a kid and noticed it had 5 lugs when my Uncle's 5.0 had 4.
