I just came in to a 84 250r my buddy gave me just needed the top end put back together. I'm looking for a little info on these, any quirks they have or any tips for working on them.

Also if u know any one who has parts for it i'm looking for a rear brake caliper and new rear fender assy.

thanks Zack

I used to have one way back when. It was just basically an air cooled two stroke MX motor they stuck into a 3-wheeler frame. I put the smooth golf-cart type tires on mine and flat track/TT'd it. Biggest problem I had was putting on the smaller tires caused it to overheat and I seized it, so make sure you take some time to let it cool off or just putt it around after running it hard.

To ride fast you have to lean off the side or it will tip and throw you on your head.

Should be able to get parts through Honda, or just do a search for it as the vintage bike market is huge. You can check the AHRMA website and see if they have anything listed.

They were really fun, but if you didn't know what you were doing it would spit you on your head real easy.

a good place to get parts for them is Hyper parts.com, you can find anything
i found all the parts for my quad i needed, exept brake springs(had to go to suzuki for them)
but ya,there typical old hondas,bulletproof

Yeah i know all about riding them i grew up on a honda atc 110 had it sense i was 7 got damn good and doing laps around my yard, drifting corners and jumping the drive way. But ur right if u don't lean all hell blacks lose u start to roll and it goes down hill from there.

i have had tons of strocked out 250r three wheelers, its cool you got it for free but the best 250rs to get is the 85 or 86 dont wast your time with any thing older. its just like working on a dirt bike, it has a cr 250r motor. there fast, watch it. good luck.

the best place to get parts is ebay, tipe in honda atc 250r, you will find every thing you will ever need. you should think about putting in a 310 stroker kit in it, nothing will come close to catching you. it a blast.
