Homemade Nerf Bars

I'm looking at getting some nerf bars for my recently bought b4000. I was just wondering if anyone ever made their own bars? I was thinking just use steel and paint it but wasnt sure of rust. Would you be able to just bold it to the frame?

u need to design some bracktes for them too.

heck yes you can bolt them to the frame, i'd probably go 4 bolts on each end and 8 per side. getting them made would probably be a little cheaper than buying them, it'll just take some measuring to figure out where to bolt them on the frame.
