Holy Crap! My kid broke his arm.

yep physical thyrapy is the best thing you can do. I shattered my ankle and had to get three surgeries to put it back together, 2 pins and 2 screws. Ya, they wouldent let me keep my pins etiher, they said that they were too sharp and I would probably hurt my self. I got to keep the screws though.

I never thought about keeping the pins. I think I'll keep them and use them somewhere on the 85 since that will be his truck when he's old enough. It really does suck trying to keep a 5 year old happy when his wing is so badly f'd up. They had to cut his cast off because his swelling was so bad. So he now has a plaster back plate wrapped in bandages and a sling. He's staying pretty still right now because every time he moves, he has quite a bit of pain.

Sure reminds me a lot of when I broke my ankle and leg. Had a 3/4 round plaster cast because of the swelling. Then after 2 weeks went to a fibreglass cast. The poor guy will be REALLY tired for the next week or so. It's amazing how much a severe fracture saps the energy from you.

For sure on the tired thing. He's napping right now and Mummy is out cold after being awake for 2 straight days.

Ya, keep him fed!
I feel bad for him. Start of summer and all, damn. My leg mangling anniversaries is May 12th. Hope you have a blockbuster card! You'll have to keep an eye on him this summer because he probably dosn't understand the severity of the issue. Asking to much from that arm to soon can be a bad thing. I would know.

dang how old is he now?

my son was very sick at 13 months had to spend a week in childrens hospitial.itwas a nitemare.....ripped my heart out.
good luck and hang in there with him

He's doing pretty well. We are taking him in to have a full cast put on tomorrow. Gramma and Grandpa are down for the week so my wife and I don't need to take any more time off work. I'm glad that the cast is coming. At least he won't wince every time he moves.

Poor guy, I feel for him!!
Ice cream and movies. Perhaps a Wii? you can play many of those games one handed.
I sorry for throwing $$$ type solutions out there, they are just what came to mind. If I think up any low$ one handed time burners I'll let you know.

He is having a pretty good time now. They put a half cast on him today and he's got a really good sling that has immobilized the arm pretty well. He has been up and playing with paper airplanes pretty much all afternoon. The doctor has told him he can't go to school for 2 more weeks but daycare will take him (thank God we have a kickass babysitter that watches him like a mother bear watches her cub).
