Ah I feel defeated..

I received the TPS sensor today and installed the part. It spec'd out the same and the idle wasnt happy unless it was in the ballpark of about .7-.8.
All was well until I turned the car off and turned it back on again warm. It started out OK until the typical 30 sec-1:00 time frame where it starts to hunt and miss like crazy. Give it some gas and it might spit a little and clear up....Then all is well again.

I've noticed that the 2 red vac lines from the airbox are cut. Who knows if the other end was plugged Where exactly should they go? I'm guessing the EGR Valve? There are lines going from the EGR (passenger side, Behind battery) to the valve so I really have no idea where those lines airbox lines would go. I know that it would normally be used to heat the air so it warms up faster.

I really dont know where to go from here. Back to the drawing board.

Thanks again

do you still have the vacuum diagram sticker just under the hood...top of the radiator?

Red vacuum line from Tee behind throttle body goes to reservoir under air filter then back out to the fender vacuum switch. Then a green vacuum line goes from there to the EGR valve.

Yeah I do actually come to think of it. Its a bit painted over but I actually have a big copy that I found online. Everything seems to be OK.

Hmm, I dont know about this on my truck. Tomorrow I'll be sure to make sure this is the case. IIRC, 1 green and 1 red that goes from under the TB and over the EGR Sol on the Left side of the engine compartment. That sounds right but...I need to look into this...

Thanks again for your help

This morning I went through inspection for the 1st time in this truck....

It passed with flying colors! The levels the truck put out was no where NEAR what was standard for NJ. So, I would imagine that the EGR is functioning OK as it is but once all the rain clears up here, I'll be sure to check out everyone's suggestions.

That sucks about the coil. Hearing about that Id take the tfi and have it checked just so I could sleep nights lol a bad coil can wreak havoc on the tfi.

Big update. Problem solved!!:yahoo:

It was an exhaust leak. Before I went through inspection I checked it out and found that I had a pin hole right at the bung of the O2 Sensor. It was my fought since I welded a new one on a few months ago. That wasnt the whole problem though since it did it BEFORE I ever touched that O2 Sensor. Either way it still needed to be shut so I did so.

The big problem was that the flange where the H pipe meets the cat was leaking. I knew it was leaking but I didn't realize how severe. Its been cold here man! Give me a break!

So I took it down and noticed it was pretty warped. So I put it on a a 90 degree angle belt sander and leveled it out. Now all is well! Its been a week and a half and now its fine. It took a few days for the computer to notice the change and run better. Now theres no more slight missing at idle and NO PROBLEMS ONCE WARM.

Thanks again for everyones help on this!!:icon_cheers:
