hi im new to the site and i have an 85 ranger with the 2.8 which i hear is pretty rare to find parts now. i joined this site to ask tech questions so i can know what i gotta do and get my truck more badass-er. first question is about my rear end. its got the 7.5 but i was wonderin if i have the room to upgrade to a locker and maybe 4.10 ratio?

A rear end from a Ranger, Explorer and maybe a few other vehicles will work...but there is a more specific forum on this if you have any other questions...but there are plenty of posts about rear end swaps...I'm sure you will find what you need here...

4.10's can be found in the Junkyard in 7.5's rather easily and can usually be had for pretty cheap.

You can get a lunchbox locker for around 200-300$ and they're easy to install.
