After swapping a 2.9 from my wrecked 90' BII in another 90' BII, I have been experiencing some hesitation, sorta. It feels like a barely clogged fuel filter or an automatic tranny slipping ever so slighty(I have a 5 speed, brand new clutch) I have replaced the filters and map sensor with the one from the other truck, I ran the codes and got and o2 sensor(replaced and getting much better mileage), and a ECT code, could it be a the ect causing me to run rich?(mpg not as good as in other truck) or like maybe the pcv valve? maybe a dying fuel pump?
It's only done this since i did the swap....
the speedo and tac act normal when driving, no obscure moving or jumping...
suggestions?

recheck your grounds connections...it that doesn't do it i would lean to the TFI module

hope that helps

now that you mention it i remember some grounds being a little shady....

tfi is brand new:icon_thumby:

Thanks!

Well if the ground wires turn OK....I'd still check the TFI there is OHM reading from pin to pin here in the TRS tech Lib...IF you have a couple that way off the mark...mostlikey its bad.

I had 1 that was brand new too...from summit...went bad with in 50 miles.
I had bought some time (3months) before I actually got around to getting mine running so they wouldn't stand behind it. & I had my pick-up coil (under the distributor) go out too...not sure if the week/fualty pickup coil took out the TFI...don't know.:dunno: BUT I checked it (TFI) 3 different times...each time the 2 pins that were bad would get a wilder reading....note it helps to write down what you get for ohm readings the compare what "should" be there....to help comfirm...& If you don't have time or Ohm meter... I took it down to the parts store they had a machine that could check them out...no charge :woot:

I also had a crappy looking ground wire...things ...little things seemed to help that...seemed to run a bit smoother over all...stuff like that

Hope that helps
