help with turbo setup

you can use the stock harness and add the extra stuff and have a cheap harness... and you can use the DIS on the old ECM and the 4 plug head, it's no big deal, runs good

I'm running an '86 engine and ECM with a '90 harness and DIS...

Am i crazy?.......No i stated my opinion and now you gave yourz. I said he would have to get a wire harness that would have made it easy for 460.00 but i oppologize for tryna help. I wont do it again sir.

460 bucks for a wireing harness...your nuts!!! ebay has NEW wireing harnesses for 250 bucks all the time..you would have to be crazy to give 460 for a harness. and for the record..dp heads are extremely common on turbo builds:icon_thumby:

there is a guy on here that i emailed and he is a sct tuner and dealer running a 2.3t on 30lbs he said to get 36lb injectors and a 90mm maf off of a lightning and he can burn me a chip with 5 tunes for my stock computer that will work excellent, and a 255lph pump but now im just on the search for some pistons sence i cant use the ones from that kit, and im going to use an intercooler......what is the bore size in mm for a stock 2.3 out of a 92 mustang?????

thanks for all the help

ok to make this 10x easier can some one post a link to a good set of forged pistons form summit that is the correct bore size and and compression distance and everything

You dont want to use the pistons in the northern kit because they are hyper. not forged and if you go over 5psi of boost YOU WILL be sorry! But what you can do is call summit racing and they can still geu forged pistons for that motor BUT they are special order an will take a minute to get them.

I got away with 17 psi on lo-compression hypers. It ran lean and I popped a head gasket, it didn't damage the pistons. Hypers are more durable than we give them credit for.

Also, those pistons at summit have been on backorder for about 2 years. They'll never come in stock. Speed-pro has discontinued them, so if you order them, it'll just be money out of your pocket.

my buddy cracked a ringland outta a piston and had to rebuild. hope you use some forged if you want any real power. you double your horsepoer at 14. hypereurutectic prolly won't hold up under 14 or more psi and and thing else is just jerking off

Boost doesnt kill pistons, detonation does....Thats why it cracks ringlands.

so should i just find a set of used turbo coupe pistons through some new rings on it, i heard to use hastings turbo pistons????

Try diamondracing.net. I just looked at them and they have the pistons you need listed it there catalog. Im pretty sure there not cheap though considering any thing i find isnt.

once ina while you can run across a good set of pistons on ebay...

found a whole short block out of an 88 turbo coupe for 100 bucks in great condition

Napa has a forged piston for an 88 Turbo Coupe listed on their website for $34 each. Says they are Sealed Power pistons. Seem kind of pricy especially if you got a whole shortblock for $100. Just putting that out there for everyone to chew on.

Steve

There isn't a NAPA in the nation that has those in stock. Sealed power/speed pro/federal mogul pistons are out of stock and out of production.
