Hi all, had to replace my fuel injectors on my 1986 2.9l because of a contaminated fuel tank, rust problem. My issue is now that it's almost back together, I can't remember how the fuel lines hooked up!! LOL I have the 2 fuel lines, supply and return. Does the supply line hook up to the pressure regulator or the nipple off of the fuel rail? (**FYI** I do know for sure which fuel line is the supply, when I urn the key on I can here the pump turn on and gas starts flowing out of it.) Thanks for your help.

Hey man, not sure if you have your answer yet or not. If not, my finger is on the supply line, connects to the metal hookup that disappears from view under the fuel rail. return line connects to fuel pressure regulator.

Thanks a lot JerrySab!! I thought that was the proper way but wanted to make sure. Guess I will go hook up those fuel lines and see if I can get my Ranger back up and running.

For some reason I thought I remembered the fittings to be different so they couldn’t be connected backwards?

I think you are correct, so I wouldn't normally have to ask that question. One of the POs who had it before me decided it was a good idea to cut those ends off to install a plastic aftermarket fuel filter.

Fair enough, I kinda figured that sort of thing might be the case
