Help with 351W Engine Swap

I'm looking at doing the same swap, an 89 351W in a 93 ranger. Just gathering info and parts at the moment. Would a IFS Toyota steering box that mounts outside the frame rail increase the clearance for the better?

You should'nt need to change the steering gear box. Alot of people have done this swap without changing it.

Really the only place that changing the steering box would help is you might be able to use the filter at the block vs. a relocation kit. The steering shaft will still be in the way at some point, it will still be coming out the same hole at the firewall. You don't need to change the box, but if you want to you can.
