HELP!! Wet car.

If that was my car the city would be paying for it.thats for sure . It was their fault.

I agree dude, but as anyone who has dealt with a government agency and getting them to pay for something they broke, well, it doesn't always work well.

Ok, here is one for you. 3 years ago I took my 94 dodge intrepid and was trying to cross a ford (water crossing type, not car :P) and it was deeper than it looked. long story short, I got stuck for about 20 minutes and had water coming in through the doors. by the time I got out of it, my floorboards where completely full of water, the water level came to just under the intake in the engine. I still have sand sitting in some of the crevices in the engine compartment. Granted the seats themselves didn't get wet, but the entire floor pan and anything under the seats got submerged. and this is creek water, not filtered city water. It was in the middle of winter so no mold grew. but I dried the car out the best I could, changed the oil and checked the trany fluid (no water in any of it) and went on with life. Never had any issues with the car to this day. I have probably put about 25-30k miles on the car since. (the car now has 177k on it)

So if you can get it dried out and no mold or mildew issues follow, I would just drive it and deal with any issues as they come up. I still would have Sis file a formal complaint against the city and see if they will do anything about it(doubtful, but it doesnt hurt to try)

Who knows, this car might go another 10 years and 100k miles or the Goverment might mandate that we all own GM cars by the time you need to mess with any issues due to the flooding.

Just my $.02
