can anyone help. can't find a grove, clip, etc. not an r clip, push release or spring clip. any help would be greatly appreciated...thx

You've got me stumped. I've never even seen one like that. Perhaps there is a disconnect further down the line?

you need a tool

lloking at my haynes manual for that and it shows a special tool to use for that fitting. whenI wake in the morning I will get my scanner out and scan the page and post it here for ya. or you could go to the auto parts store and pick up a manual for it and check out page 4-5figure 3.27.

ya i have the haynes too, it just shows the three connections, r-clip, push connect and spring connect. ive got the spring connect and other gas line tools, but nothing like this. ive got a new fpr on order at the zone and they couldnt be any help on the disconnect. there is a spring connection for the fpr line and return line under the pwr steering pump. wondering if im going to have to go to the dealer, have a feeling its going to be a line and fpr together but all aftermarket just show the fpr. if anyone has any ideas i would still appreciate the help, part wont be in until thurs. thanks again everyone....

well i figured out after looking at the fpr connection during daylight i found two small open squares near the line and with some googling i found a tool. for anyone else who may have the same connection,(KD tools says its for 90 and newer 4.0 ford rangers) I wonder what ford was doing with my '90 2.9 bii-must have been a monday build day :icon_confused: ,lol.
here is the tool you need its a KD Tool #3408...
