Im putting a 302 in a 84 ranger regular cab. I got the v6 and stock transmission. I have an aftermarket radiator that is 16x28 inches. It does not seem to fit. Im going to see if i can get it in this weekend but I was wondering if anyone has ever used that size radiator before? Also, I know that I am going to have to do a remote oil filter so that i can keep my power steering and would like to know if anyone has any advice on where I should mount the oil filter?

Thanks,
Chance

I put the relocate kit in place of the charcoal canister, it's on the driver's side, left of the radiator, there's a good open spot for it.

As far as the radiator, mine was 27 1/2" x 16 3/4" x 3 1/8" and it will require a good amount of fab to get it to fit, but it should fit. Just make sure that the filler cap and the inlet/outlets are in the right spots.

If you want, I could post pics.

My filter's located on the core where the battery used to be.Ran the lines along the cross member.
The rad. you have to make the truck fit it not it fit the truck.

I've got a 27.5 x 15.5 radiator. It's tucked up inside the core support. Remove what metal's neccessary to make it fit. The oil filter can go wherever you want it to.

oil filter

I used an L&L remote oil filter system. The spin on type always faced the wrong direction. I have my filter located on the passanger side of radiator bracket. I got hoses made at American hose company with swedged on fittings. It is a nice system. Ran the hoses long the cross member and made little brackets out of angle iron.

Here's the radiator. I custom welded the mounting brackets, filler neck, petcock, chopped corners, and the driverside outlet needed to be turned around.

The corners needed to be cut. I replaced them with sheet metal (not in the pics).

And the oil filter relocator.
